They call it the “Oscars of South African Science” for a reason.

Being in the room for the National Science and Technology Forum (NSTF) Awards was a powerful reminder of the incredible talent we have right here in South Africa. With July marking the start of Science Month in South Africa, the evening reinforced an important fact, our country has the deep intellect and creative talent required to build world-class, home-grown solutions to global challenges.

We were hosted at the event by the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA). It was a fantastic opportunity to connect directly with TIA’s leadership, discuss the future of local innovation, and TIA’s strategy to support the commercialisation thereof. TIA supported MycoSure’s original Proof of Concept, and it gave us to the opportunity to share an update on MycoSure progress and our commitment to developing solutions within the broader bioeconomy.

At MycoSure, we are working hard to build the kind of technology solution that belongs on the NSTF stage. Witnessing the calibre of last night’s winners (https://lnkd.in/dwGWCfRf) has set a high bar, but it’s exactly the type of challenge our team thrive on.
