The impact of food systems on biodiversity collapse (noting a 65% loss of biodiversity on the African continent since 1970) is one of the most important challenges we should be focusing on.
This Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership (CISL) post (and the related reference articles which are all definitely worth reading) highlights the global food system as a primary driver of biodiversity lose – while contributing about 30% of total human-produced GHG emissions and also consuming 70% of the world’s freshwater resources.
We all have to eat but we simply have to find better, more sustainable, ways to produce food which is exactly what we’re doing at MycoSure.
